Hi, I'm Azmeh Amer (She/Her)

I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor (NCC) with over a decade of experience in the profession. My passion for trauma-informed and culturally responsive counseling has led me to work extensively with marginalized communities in a variety of settings.

As an immigrant myself, I understand firsthand the unique challenges that come with navigating between cultures. This personal experience has deeply informed my approach to therapy and my commitment to serving diverse communities.

My Therapeutic Approach

In my private practice, I utilize an extensive toolkit including dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) and cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) to connect with individuals—particularly people of color who have experienced abuse, immigrants, individuals on the autism spectrum, and those seeking counseling with a religious focus.

I'm passionate about being a person-centered therapist and believe that the best counseling experiences occur when people can utilize their neurodiversity and unique ways of experiencing the world without the constraint of a specific counseling method.

As a CCE Approved Clinical Supervisor, my goal is to help train the next generation of culturally competent and empathetic counselors.
